WH40k Character Sketches

A series of rough sketches for several Warhammer 40,000 characters that I've been working on.  I'm currently getting the basic blocking and proportions down for minis of Inquisitor Reed and Acolyte Winter.  Brother-Sergeant Valimund I'm converting from a standard Tactical Marine.

The mini of Inquisitor Reed is going to be a bit of a challenge, as I want to have his Power Sword deployed in its whip-mode, but that would require something along the lines of photo-etch or carefully cut metal sheet.

The sketches of Winter were the basis for that illustration I put up a few days back (tekka-croe.deviantart.com/art/….  She should be a bit easier to sculpt, though capturing her face will be be a challenge.

As mentioned above, I'm converting a Tactical Marine into Brother-Sergeant Valimund.  I'm still deciding whether I want to borrow a Heavy Bolter from a Devastator or Scout squad, or if I just want to fabricate one myself.  I'm currently leaning towards scratchbuilding the Heavy Bolter.

I'm not currently working on any minis based on the Chaos warrior-cultist, but it's a design intended for one of the stories I've been outlining for Inquisitor Reed and Winter, so I figured I'd include it.
