LOG ENTRY: DECEMBER 3, UC 93

Today, I received a letter of assignment to Captain Wolfgang's squadron. Initially, I was rather excited by this, as Wolf Team pilots Jegans, top-of-the-line Mobile Suits. But something seemed...off. A team of technicians took me out to the hangars to see my new machine. It's definitely a Jegan, but it's different. It's covered in maneuvering verniers, and looks trimmed down in places. The gun is different too. I didn't see an ammo clip, or a receiver for one, so I'm assuming it's a beam weapon. I thought beam rifles were reserved for command units?
But then it hit me. All those tests they've been running on me. They say I'm a "Newtype." That I'm some next step in Human evolution. The only Newtypes I knew of are Amuro Ray and Char Aznable, and last I heard they were both MIA, presumed dead after the incident earlier this year. The technicians say that being a Newtype is a blessing. It's not. Not for me, anyway; it's a curse. Sure, I can pilot a mobile suit well, better than "normal" people; but when I'm not training or sleeping, I'm being poked and prodded by lab techs, day in and day out.
Maybe, if I'm lucky, Wolf Team will be stationed somewhere remote. Mayble mopping up renegade Zeon forces out in the asteroid belt? I'd love to be as far away as possible from here.

Honestly, I have no clue what prompted me to draw a Jegan. I guess I just like the design. But of course, I just couldn't leave well enough alone, and had to turn it into a custom, high-performance variant.
This is my first attempt at a (semi) original mobile suit set in Gundam's Universal Century timeline. This could develop into a short story, but for now, I think I'll leave it where it is.

One of the cleanest-looking Jegan renditions so far... And a good blueprint for a Mod/kitbash.

- Modified Jegan Body
- GM Custom shoulders
- Beam rifle from Nu
- Sinanju Fuel Tanks/Verniers

... I mean, in the word of J. Clarkson, "How hard can it be?" XD

Heh, I'm ahead of you on this one. I've actually been modding an HG Jegan into this. It's a bit harder than you say, there's lots of little differences across the whole thing, and the HG kit's proportions are a little off from what I'd like. Still, it's getting there.
