HG Quanta by Tekka-Croe HG Quanta by Tekka-Croe
My High Grade 1/144 scale model of the 000 Quanta, from Gundam 00: Awakening of the Trailblazer.

I recolored the blue areas on the legs and arms to white, to clean up the color blocking a bit. Probably my best HG00 kit.

Wait, so let me get this straight.
The HG Quanta has fully articulated hands and fingers, while my MG Quanta doesn't?

I thought MG was supposed to be of *higher* quality than the HG kits....

No, it doesn't have articulated fingers. A lot of the more recent HG kits have been including a spare "open" hand for action poses like this. It also has a standard hand.

I really like the paint scheme you used. Its a great kit on its own, but you made it look better.

This is so cool. Do you have to glue Gundam kits?

Glue isn't required, but sometimes it's the only way to close up assembly seams.

Finding Gundam kits at hobby shops is sort of a hit-and-miss thing. Most Hobby Town USA stores can special-order kits (saves you from the shipping cost). Really, you just have to look around. Most hobby shops cater to their locale, and stock whatever people seem to be interested in. The Hobby Town USA where I live used to only stock one or two Gundam kits at a time, until I started buying them every now and then.

If you live anywhere near Denver, I'd recommend Colpar Hobbies. Both of their locations always have a fair amount of Gundam stuff in stock.

Hum. In that case, ordering online might be the only option for finding the kits you want. I'd recommend Hobbylink Japan: [link]

Though, their shipping rates tend to be higher than I'd like.
