HCF-21b Peregrine by Tekka-Croe HCF-21b Peregrine by Tekka-Croe
So this is part of "Project Seabird," an original mecha universe I created in the ninth grade. Basically, it's an outlet for mecha aesthetic experimentation, and it's where I put my various exotic and experimental mecha designs. This is one of the only remotely realistic designs featured in Project Seabird. The HCF (Humanoid Combat Frame)-21b Peregrine is produced by Lockheed-Martin, and is essentially the Joint Strike Fighter of the mid-Twenty-second Century.

Be on the lookout for a few more Project Seabird designs. I assure you, they're far less believable than this one.

EDIT: I should clarify; I did not draw this in the ninth grade. I was awful at drawing giant robots in the ninth grade. I drew this on Friday.

Every time I see this I think about a mecha from Robotech (not sure of the name) and my mind tries to figure out how it transforms into a jet.

This is such a cool design.  The way you integrated a pretty traditional-looking cockpit into the torso design, and the color scheme you chose give this thing a really fun near-future scifi feel for me.

Normally, I'm not such a huge fan of overly bulky mecha... but this...I don't think I'd mind piloting this this thing at all. The warning labels and other decals are a nice touch, and I like how the cockpit fuses seamlessly into the rest of the body. That, and the mostly greyish color scheme really makes it look like something that came out of NASA.

Are there any other designs from your Project Seabird universe?

Thanks!

I also posted my design for the title mecha, the "Seabird", but that's all that I've put online: [link]

Good design- not overly complex, and every component in its place. By the way, what are those pods under its armpit? Auxiliary fuel tanks? Gun pods?

Fuel tanks. I took a lot of cues from modern fighter jets in designing this, and they just seemed to fit.

Man, I reeeeally love this mech design!  If I could +fav it twice, I would.
The decals and paint scheme give it a very realistic military aviation flavor.

No, it's non-transformable. Just heavily inspired by modern jets.

Great design and drawing! I love the masses and angles - and you've kept a great density rhythm throughout the design. Great job.

I also like that it would appear that the military has smartened up, and started re-using the hundreds of cockpit assemblies readily available from the military Boneyard... ^__^

I like it! An armored-glass cockpit would provide extra protection for the pilot; however any would-be hotshots would be hard pressed to keep out of the way of whatever big-ass artillery this mech would carry...

Great job!!!

Cool. I like how it is humanoid without having an actual face. I tend to prefer the MechWarrior-style mechs to the Gundam-style mechs myself.

nice design! ^^ question: wouldnt the pilot be in considerable danger as the cockpit is clearly visible and only protected by the clear material (dont really know what to call it :P )?

Yes, the pilot would be in all sorts of danger. But that's not an issue. Project Seabird isn't about designing practical robots. It's about playing around with cool looking stuff.
