For The Greater Good! by Tekka-Croe For The Greater Good! by Tekka-Croe
One of a handful of illustrations I'm contributing to deathsquadgame.com for their WH40k Skirmish System book (a non-profit project which will be distributed digitally, free of charge. As I understand it, anyway).

As much as I love the Space Marines, the Tau are my first love in WH40k.

You seem to be one of those few people that can get the Fire Warrior armor just right, including those tiny gadget thingies on their wrists and glow of their helmet visors, I am impressed.

Wow! Quite great!

I really never understood why the Tau have a vagina in the middle of the face... I like them more with their helmets on =D

The hole in his face? That's a nose.

That still creeps me out to this day.

That's what I thought, too!

I was doing some background research on the Tau while working on this. Apparently, their olfactory (smell) organs are located in the mouth. The slit looks like a nose, though, and it really should be the nose. Weird, right?

These use my typical method for fully traditional works: Sketched in pencil, inked with Sakura Micron pens, and colored with Copic sketch markers.
