Ex-S Gundam (HGUC 1/144)by *Tekka-Croe

I actually completed this model several months ago, but lack of both an adequately sized photography area and a base capable of holding it up prevented me from getting it posted until now. The base you can sort of make out here is of my own design; I had it custom-cut by a local plastics shop.

(Sorry, Kevin, I actually used my own camera for this. Turns out it has a better depth of field than I thought it did.)

This thing is a monster compared to my other HG kits. The Sinanju's dimensions almost match it, but it can't match the Ex-S's sheer bulk and thickness.

Like on my other recent models, my paintwork here was inspired by the Gundam Fix Figuration line of deluxe action figures. I've also used a variant paint scheme, which seems to be the Ex-S's generally accepted color scheme among current modellers.

I was thinking of using this scheme, too, since I went Air Master with the standard (plus the blue flows so much nicer than having red on the feet). Very smooth and silk paint job to it, too. What did you use for decals? I have some MG ones that worked pretty slick but are much larger.

A friend of my built one of these, and I always wanted to build one (in this specific colour scheme, my favourite...) but this looks so much better than I thought the HGUC version could look. You have done some really enviable work here.
