Elite Minor (2556) by Tekka-Croe Elite Minor (2556) by Tekka-Croe
More design work for the Halo story that :iconthe-crimson-wolf: and I have worked on in the past. One of the central characters is a Spec.Ops Elite, who has his roots in the events surrounding Delta Halo, in Halo 2. Because of this, I've gone with a somewhat more traditional take on the Elites' armor; this design is very heavily based on the Elites from the original Halo trilogy, with just a little bit of Reach thrown in for good measure.

After fighting the first group of Covenant you encounter aboard UNSC Forward Unto Dawn in H4, Cortana remarks that they "aren't outfitted like standard military." The special edition guide for the game makes it pretty clear that the Covenant forces on Requiem are part of a fringe, fanatical sect, which had been waiting outside the entrance to Requiem for several years prior to the Chief's arrival.

So this is my take on what "standard military" Elites might look like in 2556, and will be used as a basis for subsequent designs and permutations.

Very nice. However it looks like Halo 1-era Elites rather than the Elites of Halo 3 and above. In particular the chest area.

Did you even read the description? I clearly stated that this is inspired by the Elites from the original Halo trilogy. As in "Games 1, 2 and 3."

OK. Sorry about that. Ignore the I.

I can't read the description. My phone is currently on a hate trail for me.

Apologies.

The "Covenant" forces on Requiem are suppose to be pretty poorly geared. The Elite's entire society is crumbling around them most of the races economic situation is in tatters due to over a thousands of of what amounts to being specialized slave races of the Covenant.
Glasslands describe the elites' fleet was in disrepair, and how they where having to relearn how to farm their own crops and how everything about their society beyond being a soldier was pretty much having to be retaught. and this mind you was shangheilios their cradle world.

On another note, did you notice how the elite's heads look "off" like their top mandibles seem to be overlapping their upper lip as if they where too thick or the skull was fuddled with?

Which, of course, is how they explained the Elites' visual redesign and nerfing in the game to give the Prometheans some limelight. A Storm Elite, even one of the gold Warriors, is noticeably easier to deal with than even a standard Promethean Knight.

Well to be fair, the elites are still rocking fairly similar if not identical AI as they previously where, it's just that their defenses have generally been lowered and are familiar to the player base. we know how to fight Covenant forces because w've been doing it for over ten years. By comparison the Prometheans are new, have new tricks, and are generally more durable. The ability to teleport and regain some shields make them significantly harder to put down than an elite would be at equivalent defenses.

Yeah I know right? They were on their cheeks. They also had a flap on the bottom of their mouth. If Halo 2 anniversary is made, and if they use the same skins from Halo 4, it will be too painful to play (they probably won't though).
