"We set out from the Mediterrania three days ago after hearing rumors of a 'Haven' supposedly located in the heart of the wastes. We've come across an oddity that has caused us to rethink our assumption that we're the only ones out here: The still-hot coals of a fire that couldn't have been burning any less than two days ago. Lying next to that was a pile of what appear to be chicken bones. God knows how a chicken could end up out here. There is dark pillar in the distance, which has been our only point of reference over the past three days. Ordinarily, we would head toward such a pillar; but with the alarming amount of Nannanites roaming the wastes, we have decided to steer clear of any large, dark objects..."
