All right! Looks like I've got the Halo bug again, so here's a nice, polished reference for one of my Halo OCs, Spartan McCloud.

I don't usually time myself, but I'd estimate this took about 14-15 hours of work.

Quick bio copied from my preview of Fireteam Indigo:

Spartan Reina McCloud began as a refugee from Miridem, the colony having been glassed by the Covenant when she was ten. She lived on Reach for several years, having been placed there by a refugee relocation program. Itching for payback against the Covenant, she signed on with the UNSC Marines on her eighteenth birthday. She graduated Marine Basic just days before the Covenant offensive on Reach, and her squad was deployed throughout the southern territories evacuating civilians. She fought alongside several ODST squads during this time, and developed a wanting to join their ranks (assuming of course, that she survived the current predicament).

Having far too many empty drop pods to fill following the loss of Reach, Reina's transfer to the ODSTs was approved. She fought briefly on Earth, and spent the next year on mop-up assignments with her squad. When the Spartan-IV program was announced, She was quick to volunteer, having grown up with the news reporting on the legendary Spartans as the ultimate instruments of justice against the Covenant. While many of her ODST squadmates were less than enthused by this decision, they did let her keep the helmet, and she's still got the ODST's emblem- a flaming skull superimposed on the silhouette of a SOEIV drop pod- tattooed on her right shoulder.

Armor is as follows:
Torso- Recruit (Modified to incorperate the more powerful thruster packs from the GEN-2 Mk-VI, alternate shield emitter)
Helmet- ODST
Shoulders- Air Assault/VERGE
Forearms- XV-27 Shifting (Modified)
Legs- ??? (Presently unnamed variant)

Spartan Reina McCloud is pretty obviously an adaption of my OC, Reina Cloude ([link]), but several years older, and at least a foot taller.

I already commented on the fact that the ODST Helmet could be called ODST SPI. I don't see why the legs cannot be part of this matching set... just sayin.

I like your backstories, they make the characters come alive!
SavageFitz Featured By Owner Nov 14, 2015
Also love your SPARTAN's. Wish I could figure out the look to my own OC, but haven't had much luck in finding that armor build that just fits right. Keep up the good work and maybe in the future I could convince you to sketch out my own character. :)

That ODST Helmet is pure perfection.  You got the Visor mid-lip just right (Even Halo 4 couldn't get it) and looks like you even added some designing of your own.

Well done.

Very nice work! You have a great feeling for how these surfaces would work in 3D

While I'm not a fan of Gen 2 entirely, You made this one look good. My only dislike would probably be the boot/shoe area :P.

Fuckin' 343, I may be a Recon lover, but damn. Why didn't they add the ODST helmet in Halo 4.
TheTraveler96 Featured By Owner Apr 5, 2014  Hobbyist Artist
It's in the Infinity Armor pack, actually.:) (Smile)
HaloRecons12 Featured By Owner Apr 6, 2014  Professional Traditional Artist
lol, a little late, but yeah.  A lot of players were pretty happy when it returned along with Mark V, and featuring Prefect on the Champion Bundle.  However, its a shame that they don't work in SpOps.

Yeah, I hate that! I have a buddy who loves the Ricochet shoulder pieces, but he has to use EOD instead!

Yes...please...seriously bring back the ODSTs...

XG-89 Narrow is the leg armor.

Also awesome.
Tekka-Croe Featured By Owner May 28, 2013  Student Digital Artist
I use the Narrow legs in the game, but these are a different variant.
facelessPysch0 Featured By Owner May 28, 2013  Hobbyist Writer
Ah, you're correct. The top part if Narrow but the calf armor is different as is the boot.
Tekka-Croe Featured By Owner May 28, 2013  Student Digital Artist
Yup. Though proportionally, it is inspired by the Narrow greaves.

The detail and everything else in and about your drawings is absolutely mind-blowing! I wish I could even begin to create armour as detailed as this.
SavageFitz Featured By Owner Feb 21, 2013
Love this. Wish I was capable of something this good as then I'd be able to finally translate my own original character into a more real look. lol. Maybe someday I can commission someone or convince someone to draw my guy up, but till then I'll admire all the other awesome work of other peoples original characters.

There are some armor permutations that should have been left out and some that should have been put in, and the ODST is definitely one that should have been brought back.
Lukeran Featured By Owner Feb 10, 2013  Student General Artist
Im sad that they didn't keep the ODST variant as an armor choice in Halo 4. ODST is best variant.

The curvature of her lower legs weirds me out. Otherwise, fantastic.
Tekka-Croe Featured By Owner Feb 7, 2013  Student Digital Artist

The thing with the legs is just a personal stylistic quirk. I almost always exaggerate the curvature of legs, because I find it adds visual interest to a character's stance.

"To each his own," I suppose.
