Autobot "Oldschool" by Tekka-Croe Autobot "Oldschool" by Tekka-Croe
I've had this mostly finished for a couple months, and finally decided to post it. I was inspired to draw this after listening to the incredibly awesome soundtrack from Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (the movie's only redeeming feature).

Since the whole transformation feature (besides being awesome) is so that these alien robots can hide in plain sight, I figured "A 25-year-old import economy car is literally the last vehicle you'd expect to secretly be a giant robot."

And that's how I ended up drawing my 1985 Toyota Corolla as a Transformer. Autobot, of course, I'm a sucker for those do-gooders.

Autobot Oldschool is a close-quarters specialist and is armed with a pair of flip-folding Energon blades.

EDIT: Google images is useless, so here's a picture of my Corolla, for reference: [link]

When I saw the name, I was surprised- I had an idea for an Autobot who transformed into a school bus, named "Skulltaker" (his speakers are damaged, making it seem as if his name was "Schoolteacher," and earning him the nickname "Old School.")

Anyways, good job. Is he supposed be from the world of Michael Bay's movies?

Yeah, he's meant to be a Bay-style transformer except that 1)He's not a sports car and 2)His components look less jumbled.

Colour him in a paley bluey green and this would be a perfect movie version of Kup.

Either way, this is incredible!

Very detailed and technical. With some thickening of the limbs it could probably be the basis for a toy.

Damn, this is awesome. You can even sort of see where things go. Personally, I dislike the new style. It's like someone just said "If we just make them all look like piles of shrapnel, no-one will notice that the cars don't actually transform into the robots".

Very, very nice, its clean and is very clear. The only thing I wish this picture had is a sequence to show how the transformation all fits together to form the vehicle mode.

So from a design standpoint, this is more coherent and clear then any of the transformers in the movies, aside from bumbleBee's face. This is what happens when you actually draw it vs photo mashing pictures and painting. Well done sir.

Now all that's left is a regular old two/four-wheeler bike that is secretly a Transformer.

Or a school bus.
